Argument from an elder on why to not leave the JWs...
by undercover ini got an interesting reply from an elder friend when i admitted that i had issues with the wts.
i had listed the failed predictions, the changing doctrines and the mistakes made by the wts.. he came back with the examples of the israelites in the wilderness and under the various kings.
the nation of israel was still god's people despite their hardheadedness and sins.

Do ALL men cheat??
by ChakkaConned ini was watching an old eddie murphy hbo special a few weeks ago where he was talking about relationships.
in his bit, he went off on how all men cheat on their wives and girlfriends.
he was adamant that even the nicest of guys will take the opportunity to cheat if given the chance and that women need to understand that this is the way it is, 100% of the time.

i was just reading an article in esquire magazine on this subject. basically it said that cheating begins with the person not having a full belief in a monogamus (spelled wrong - i know - don't feel like getting out the dictionary) relationship. be it male or female. they based this on the fact that people live longer today than a hundred years ago - when being with the same person meant not having to be with them for fifty years. the average life span was 45 and now it's 75. so, it ws easier to be with only one person back then. not saying it happened, but theoretically it should have been easier.

How many people ...
by BlackSwan of Memphis inhow many of you have gotten so unbelievably depressed when you realised how trapped you were?
when you realised that your whole school life could have been spent preparing you for a world you were totally unprepared for?
when you realised it was your sanity or else?

i ,like you looked into things out of curiosity. when i did, the blinders came off instantaneously. i've never wished to go back in time. because, who i was then, is part of who i am now. that's the hard part, figuring out who i am now, without all the guidelines. i still question what things i still believe in. for now i'm comfortable with the belief in god. emotionally, i'm not up to delving deep for any other answers..

Brainwashed...that is something my non dub husband calls it...i think if that's all we've experienced...and it was so in my case-born and raised...that's what we become.
since i've been out, i've been trying to find the person i really am without all the rules and narrowmindedness. It's a tough job. gotta take it day by day.
Baby steps!

All Press Releases for January 27, 2004 Proposed UN Resolution Would Effectively Ban Religion A draft resolution which aims to secure global peace and stability at the expense of organized religion is today being submitted to the United Nations in New York. NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) January 27, 2004 -- A draft resolution which aims to secure global peace and stability at the expense of organized religion is today being submitted to the United Nations in New York. The resolution is being proposed by Antony Last, founder of formulism.org, a site which claims that freedom FROM religion would be of far greater benefit to mankind than freedom OF religion. Freedom from Religion | Proposed UN Resolution / Charter Amendment | Version 1.1 WE THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS HEREBY VOW * to save succeeding generations from the scourge of organized religion, a folly which has brought untold sorrow to mankind through the division, hatred and conflict it engenders, and * to reaffirm an individual's right to freedom of belief, freedom of conscience and freedom of prayer, and * to establish conditions under which these freedoms can be privately exercised. AND FOR THESE ENDS WE UNDERTAKE 1. To outlaw, with immediate effect, the public expression of religious beliefs, including the use of symbols, clothing or markings which are synonymous with any currently or previously existing religions. 2. To outlaw, with immediate effect, public acts of worship or religious declaration. 3. To outlaw, with immediate effect, private gatherings of three or more people for the purposes of engaging in acts of worship or religious services. 4. To outlaw, with immediate effect, the publication of books, literature or articles which seek to promote religious beliefs or encourage adherence to religious doctrine. 5. To outlaw, after a period of amnesty, the personal ownership of books or materials which seek to promote religious beliefs or encourage adherence to religious doctrine. (Books of academic or social interest will be made freely available to schools, universities and public libraries). 6. To outlaw, with immediate effect, the celebration of religiously significant dates. 7. To begin, wi! th immed iate effect, the destruction or reassignment of predominantly religious buildings, such as churches, mosques and temples. what if your future gal, doesn't want to do that procedure? what if the procedure costs more money than you have? what if the power went out, generators didn't work. and all your sperm died.
